Playa Bejuco
Playa Bejuco is a small rural coastal village that is located off the conventional tourist track, yet is less than 1/2 hour from the lively, "hustle and bustle" town of Jaco, with its nightlife, tourist shops, restaurants and other urban amenities. There is a bodega (mini-mart) located only steps from our townhome, and two beach hotel/restaurants a short walk down our road leading to the ocean. The restaurant/bars offer excellent food at reasonable prices and are nice places to enjoy drinks at sunset.

A short drive to the north are the Esterillos (three beach villages named for nearby estuaries flowing into the Pacific), where there are more beachfront hotels, restaurants and bars, as well as a small grocery store and other businesses located in Esterillos Oeste, home to Sirena, the large mermaid statue built on a reef extending into the Pacific. Larger grocery stores, shops and varied urban amenities can be found in the nearby towns of Parrita (15 minutes) and Jaco (25 minutes).

Playa Bejuco offers the best of both worlds, a beautiful and peaceful rural setting with access to a variety of nearby tourist activities. At the end of the day, it is nice to retreat to the solace and quietude of our Gardens of the Pacific community.
Manuel Antonio/ Arenal/ Monteverde
Manuel Antonio National Park, a scenic wonder of the world, is a natural gem located on the coast less than an hour to the south. It makes for a perfect day trip to experience the beautiful jungle-lined tropical beaches, rocky headlands, and scenic ocean and offshore island views, as well as to witness a diversity of wildlife, including monkeys, tree sloths and iguanas. Further away, but well worth an overnight trip, are the Arenal Volcano (an active volcano that erupts continually) and picturesque Lake Arenal (one of the world's premier windsurfing locations), as well as the enchanting Monteverde cloud forest. These natural Costa Rican treasures are approximately 4 hours to the north.
Costa Rica Activities
Costa Rica offers much in the way of adventure and ecotourism and there are opportunities for surfing, fishing, ziplining, canopy tours, ATV rentals, white water rafting, mountain biking, scuba diving, horseback riding, golfing, birdwatching, hiking, wildlife viewing, etc. Folks who stay in our townhome can surf, fish, horseback ride, bicycle on the beach, and trek to waterfalls, activities found only a short distance from the townhome.
